Whether you’re the developer of commercial real estate in Boca Raton, or an attorney on Atlantic Avenue in Delray, or a worker at a high-tech firm at the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, almost everybody loves a good burger. If you do, this is your month. May is National Burger Month.

Here in Boca Raton and throughout South Florida, we have beef patties worth celebrating. South Florida Burger Overload recently had a review of several burger stands.

Just this month, Shake Shack opened in Boca. The venerable burger and shake joint joins a host of other eateries known for burgers large and small. Among those fine (and questionable) establishments our short list are:

The Office on Atlantic Ave. With prime burgers and craft beer, beach combers and suited execs alike will enjoy the selection and location.

Le Tub Saloon on Hollywood Beach. Prepare to wait a while. But a burger on the Intracoastal – in an establishment dating back to 1959 – is a great pairing.

Charm City Burgers on Hillsboro in Deerfield Beach have burgers (like the one pictured here) that are darn sloppy good. As their site says, “Choose wisely.” Then again, if you don’t, you can always choose differently your next time.

Burger & Beer Joint. Sure, it’s a haul to South Beach or Mary Brickell Village. But these are great burgers – you can “pimp” yourself. Named after hit songs – Hotel California, Freebird, Mustang Sally – they’re memorable even before your first bite. And if you’re up to the task, the 10-pound MotherBurger presents a challenge: Down it in less than two hours, and it’s free.

Steak n Shake, Five Guys, Elevation Burgers, CG Burgers and BurgerFi. Sure, they’re chains. But each brings a unique taste and flair to the equation – from Elevation’s sustainable, organic beef, to Steak n Shake timeless burger place appeal.
