The Elevator Speech

From the Desk of Ken Silberling:
The “Elevator Pitch” or “Elevator Speech” is an invaluable tool in promoting any business.
The idea is that you are on an elevator or in a social or networking situation and have 30 seconds to 2 minutes to describe the essence of your business to an individual. A successful Elevator Pitch is an ideal way to turn a causal acquaintance into a key client.
The Harvard Business School gives the following four tips to crafting your perfect Elevator Speech:
1. Keep it short – what do you want the listener to remember about you ?
2. How do you or your company add value to the listener ?
3. Show the unique benefits that you/your company bring to business.
4. Describe your immediate goals – the listener should know what you are asking from him or her.
One more key to having a great elevator speech is having a great elevator — like the one at Danburg Management’s Peninsula Corporate Center at Congress.
